ANDERSON ISAAC GRAVES: 92, passed away peacefully Aug 30 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home-Galena IL. He was a son of Jacob & Mary Bak-er Graves, early pioneers of the state of WI. He was born 3 Nov 1861 in HaneyTwp. When but a child his father enlisted in the UnionArmy & served throughout the Civil War. Upon the return of his father, the family moved to the town of Harrison. His early life was spent there where he attended & finished his ele-mentary education at the Wunderlin School. As a young man MrGraves went West & set-tled near RapidCity SD, where he became a cattle rancher. He remained there the greater part of his life & saw the old West develop from a rugged frontier settlement to the high state of development of today. MrGraves came back to WI about 20yrs ago & remained here for some time, then returned to Lime SD & there resided for about 2yrs. He then returned to WI where he has since resided. MrGraves health began to fail aboout 6yrs ago. He suffered patiently from an incurable illness & during that time those who cared for him noted that he was an unusual patient in that he never complained, was cheerful, kind & most appreciative. He had that sturdy con-stitution & the broad & friendly outlook on life of one who had experienced the hardships of a pioneer. He is survived by bro: Allen Graves-Platteville; sis: MrsAda Akinson-Madison; sev-eral nieces-nephews, other relatives-friends. Services were held Sunday at Thomas Funeral Home. Burial in Whig Cem.
