William Farnes King, 86, passed away at Sunshine Terrace Saturday following at lingering illness.

He was born June 25, 1884, at Logan, a son of William and Clara Ann Farnes King.

He spent his early life in Logan where he attended school and was employed by the Anderson Lumber Co.

On October 28, 1903, he married Iduma Willie. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

In 1909, Mr. King, with other relatives homesteaded a dry farm at Buist, Idaho, which is located between Arbon and Curlew valley. Here he reared his family and took part in the building of that community.

He served in the bishopric of the Mountain View Ward, Curlew Stake for nine years and as bishop for 11 years.

In 1934, he moved to Logan Seventh Ward. He served as High Priest group leader, and as counselor and president of High Priest Quorum of Mt. Logan Stake.

For 22 years he was an officiator at Logan Temple.

Surviving are his widow and eight of his ten children. Mrs. Vernon (Vera) Bindrup, Ogden; William Ronald King, Mrs. Clarence (Glenna) Austin, and Mrs. Marvin (Ina) Davies, all of Logan; George Max King, Malad; Owen Leslie King, Pocatello; Melvin Grant King, Ogden; Mrs. Alma (Mary) Lawrence, Summit; 46 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.

Two daughters proceeded him in death, Clara Ann King and Mrs. Gordon (Arlene) Nielsen.

Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Peter H. (Alice) Jensen, Pocatello.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at noon at the mortuary.

Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Logan City Cemetery.

William Farnes King is the father-in-law of my 7th cousin Clarence Waddoups Austin (Barber Line). Rest in the Peace of Our Lord.
