Ann Cassin, the daughter of James and Mary Cassin, was born in Kilkinery, Ireland, in 1848, and in early life came to America, settling in Abington township, Illinois.
January 28, 1875, she was united in marriage to Pete Doud, in Keithsburg, and to them were born a son, Patrick Doud, and a daughter, Mary A., the wife of A. C. Griffith. The death of her husband occurred in 1883, and since that time she has resided on the home place with her family, where her death occurred.
The deceased leaves to mourn her loss her son and daughter, seven sisters and two brothers, and several grandchildren, besides many friends.
Funeral services were held in Keithsburg on Thursday morning at ten o'clock at the St. Mary's church, being conducted by the Rev. Father Timmons. Interment was made at the Catholic cemetery.
