Private, 2 Field Ambulance, based at CFB Petawawa. He was a medical technician serving with the Task Force Kandahar Health Services Unit, part of the Canadian contingent of NATO forces in Afghanistan.

Pte Miller and MCpl Kristal Giesebrecht were killed when their armoured vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Panjwai district about 20 kilometres southwest of Kandahar City. The two medics were attached to a unit of 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group that was on its way to deal with a mine that had been found in the doorway of a house. A third soldier was injured in the blast and airlifted to hospital at Kandahar Air Field.

Aged 21, Pte Miller was born in Sudbury, Ontario. He joined the military in 2006 and was serving on his first overseas deployment. His commanding officer said Pte Miller will be remembered as someone who would give his fellow soldiers the shirt off his back and was always the first to volunteer. He was very confident in both his soldiering and clinical skills. He was nicknamed "Caillou" for his remarkable resemblance to the cartoon character. An accomplished cook, he loved to share in good food, good times and good spirits. He was proudly following in the footsteps of his father who served in Kandahar City in 2008 as part of the Greater Sudbury Police Service's contribution to the Canadian Civilian Police training contingent.

Pte Miller leaves behind his partner Staci Jessup, parents Wendy Miller and Raymond Ealdama, sister Emma and brothers Jordan and Justin, other family members and many friends.

Funeral service with full military honours held on July 3, 2010 at Glad Tidings Tabernacle, Sudbury. Cremation will follow, with interment in the Field of Honour Civic Cemetery.

Canada has now lost 150 military personnel since the Afghanistan mission began in 2002. One diplomat, a journalist and two aid workers have also died.
