Funeral Services For Tom Lucas Held Wednesday
Funeral services for Thomas Franklin Lucas, a resident of Carnegie for many years, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist church with Rev. Bob Williams, pastor of the local church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial was in the Carnegie Cemetery.
Lucas, a native of Texas, died Sunday in the Carnegie hospital where he had been a patient for about a week. He had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Buford Charles.
He was born August 16, 1882, and was married to Martha Louise Griswald on July 14, 1907. Eight children were born to them. Mrs. Lucas and three children preceded him in death.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Charles, Carnegie, Mrs. Jeff Roden, Oklahoma City and Mrs. Raymond Davis, Chino. Calif.; two sons, Fred of Strathmore and Ab of Orville, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Following contributed by Pamela Hackett:
I am the granddaughter to Thomas Franklin and Martha Louise Lucas. My father was their last child. I would like for his name to be added to the list of children. His name was Freddie Franklin Lucas, born August 31, 1923, died May 10, 2004. My father passed away in Spartanburg, South Carolina, his last residence. My name is Pamela Lucas Hackett and I have a younger sister named, Fredena Lucas Jaggers.

Also, there was another son named Absalom Benjamin Lucas, born January 12, 1916. I know he is deceased and was buried in California, but I do not know the location or date of his death.
