Mrs. George Barton
After several days suffering Mrs. Maggie Barton wife of George Barton who resides at 802 Stevens Street corner of Fourth passed away. Death relieved her sufferings this morning, she dying at about 3 o'clock. Death has come sudden and it will be a great shock to her many friends to learn of her demise.
Mrs. George Barton was born in Grey County, Ontario June 24, 1856 making the deceased 40 yrs., 9 months at her death. Her parents were John and Janette Watt, her father is dead but Mrs. Watt resides at Chesley, Ontario. The deceased came to this city in 1887 and shortly after married George Barton who is a bridge carpenter for the C & G Railroad. The marriage took place October 26 of that year at Chesley, Ontario. The deceased leaves three young children, Margaret Ruth, George and Elizabeth. Mrs. Barton had one sister Lizzie who has resided at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Barton in this city for some time. Also there are four brothers, J. R. and A. S. Watt of Detroit, William Watt of Pinconning, and David Watt of Chesley, Ontario.
The deceased was a church member holding membership in a Baptist Church in Detroit and was a highly esteemed Christian woman.
The funeral will take place at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon from the house. Rev. M. L. Hoyt will officiate and interment will be made in Avondale Cemetery--Flint Journal.
