After living for several years in Cane Hill, Washington Co, AR, they settled in Tomlinson, Scott, AR where Edward was a successful farmer and the first minister of the Coop Prairie Church in Mansfield. They were apparently pro-Union, in a southern state, and lost two sons, two daughters, and two sons-in-law during the Civil War. Elizabeth died on April 7, 1872 in Mansfield, Scott Co, AR. Edward and Elizabeth share a headstone.
