CORNELL — Sadie M. Vajgrt, 92, died Saturday at Golden Age Nursing Home, Chippewa Falls.
Sadie Billman was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, where she married William Vajgrt Dec. 19, 1910. They moved to Chippewa County in 1915, where they farmed for many years, moving to Cornell in 1935, where she worked for Dr. E. J. Mittermeyer from 1936 to 1948 and at Federated Clothing Store until 1961. She was past president and a 50-year member of the Cornell American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons. Earl, Marshfield, Ernest, Pelkie, Mich.; three brothers, Fred and Floyd Billman, Marshalltown, Iowa, Caroll Billman, Grinell, Iowa; a sister, Mable Wolf, Marshalltown, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2p.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Cornell, with burial in Cornell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Borton Funeral Home, Cornell, where the American Legion Auxiliary will conduct memorial services at 8 tonight.
