|Margaret Belle "Maggie" Gardner Hendricks|
|Birth: ||Dec., 1858|
|Death: ||Dec. 7, 1934|
Los Angeles County
Maggie was a daughter of Thomas P. Gardner and Ellen (Eleanor?) Thompson. She was born in Wisconsin, probably in southwest Dunn county near Knight's Creek. She grew up with five brothers and sisters, and on Christmas day 1875 married William Elias Hendricks. Several years later the young family moved west to Brookings county in Dakota Territory near the town of White. Though life was hard on the prairie, they had plenty of company, as the move involved the relocation of Will's three brother from Chippewa Falls, and a number of related families from the area of Sparta.
Will and Maggie had four children:
Paul Egbert (1877) who died at age 28
Katie Blanche (1884) who lived only four years
Harry (1892) who died in infancy
Claire William (1893) who died at age 23
Sometime between 1920 and 1920, having lost her husband and three of her four children, it appears she packed up and moved to the west coast, although this is not certain.
