His father, Edward John Kitt and his mother, Dinah (Brenchley) Kitt immigrated to the United States when Ed was only one year old. In 1883 they moved to Lincoln County, WA and homesteaded in the Duck Lake region near Harrington, WA. Ed was only one year old

He married Vivian O. Thorp 31 October 1901 Lincoln County, WA. They divorced. She was 17 years old, born Ellensburg, WA and living in Harrington, WA. Her father was Bolin Thorp and her mother, Hattie (Hol__?) Thorp.

In 1918 Ed went to Spokane, Spokane County, WA and lived there for 10 years. Moving in 1928 to the Palouse County in Whitman County, WA.

He married Frances Harman 28 June 1926 Spokane, Spokane County, WA. They both had divorced and this was their second marriage. She was age 43 born Missouri. Her father, John? Pratt and her mother, Mary Halderman. After Ed died she married to William Seitz 20 October 1955 Dayton, Columbia County, WA.

He died in his home in Whitman County.
