The service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 14, at First Christian Church with Rev. Larry B. Metzger officiating. Burial will follow at Ceres Cemetery in Ceres. The family will greet friends on Sunday evening, June 13, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Trout Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.


Wanda was born on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1924, to Harry S. and Florence Crane Blew in Ceres. She grew up on a family farm near Red Rock. She married Claude Dale Butler on Feb. 7, 1946, and they made their home in Ponca City. Over the years she worked as a homemaker and seamstress and then worked as a hospital pharmacy technician for approximately 10 years before retiring in 1988.


She was an artist with every stitch and enjoyed writing poetry for family and friends. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church.


She is survived by her husband, Dale Butler of the home; two sons, Gary and wife Marsha of Vinita and Dennis and wife Kathy of Ponca City; and daughter, Dede and husband Jim Huggins of Watts; two sisters, Marjorie Vannest of Georgetown, Texas and Molly and husband Johnnie Wright of Norman; nine grandchildren, Jesse Butler, Chad Butler, Rhett Butler, Ryan Butler, Kyle Butler, James Butler, Kate Huggins, Beth Huggins and Scott Huggins; and eight great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert 'Bob' Blew and Jack Blew; and sister, Betty Jean Alley.


Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Jesse, Chad, Rhett, Ryan, Kyle and James Butler.


Honorary casket bearer will be Scott Huggins.
