Peoria, IL - Stephen Christopher Smith, 53, of Okeechobee, Fla, formerly of Peoria, died September 27, 2004 at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee.

He was born August 18, 1951 in Mount Vernon, IL. to Roy Edwin and Ella Bernice Smith. They survive.

Also surviving are seven brothers, Ralph (Lavern) of South Tartic, Fl., Patrick (MaryAnn) of Peoria, IL., John of Okeechobee, Fl., Paul (Arlene) of Chillicothe, IL., James (Kathy) of Orlando, Fl., William of Okeechobee, Fl., Daniel (Kim) of Rockford, IL., and two sisters, Sharon (Larrie) Elser, of Sheridan, Mt., Susan Patten of East Peoria, Il.

He was an Army Veteran, serving as Military Police. Stephen worked as security at Illinois Bell in Peoria for several years.

A memorial mass will be at 3 P.M. Tuesday at St. Edwards in Chillicothe. Father Glen Harris will officate. An internment service will be at 3 P.M. Friday at American Mausoleum. Full military rites will be accorded.
