Mrs. Alta O. Garske, 83, of 948 Johnson St., died in a local hospital Thursday, Aug. 17. She was born in Plainfield, Wis., Oct. 11, 1888.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Women's Relief Corps.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Norman (Della) Elstad, Mrs. Camilla Colby, Mrs. Leonard (Genevieve) Dummer and Mrs. O. H. (Lillian) Schultz, all of LaCrosse; two sons, John Milkey of Nekoosa, and Robert Milkey of Jacksonville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. O. D. (Anna) Wolke of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Edith Reith of Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.
Services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Sletten-McKee-Hanson Funeral Home. Rev. J. Floyd Dwyer will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
