Lorenzo was the son of Rev. Linus and Temperance Austin. He was married 3-times, first wife was Caroline F. Carr, his second was Ann Elizabeth Stewart and his third was Abigail Sterns. He took a trip to Detroit, Michigan in 1886 and died there. His remains were sent back to Akron, Ohio for burial.
At his death he was 71 years old.
