She was born on September 5, 1918 in the town of Hewitt, Marathon County, the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Lillian (Graves) Kluckman.
In August of 1939, she was united in marriage to Floyd Kundo, they later divorced. She then married Roy Jersey on April 12, 1975. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2004.
Hazel worked at Marathon Electric for over 25 years and was a member of the John Owen American Legion Post #287, Mattoon Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed word puzzle books, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and Mexican Train, bird watching, flowers, collecting cups, casinos and Bingo, but especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by eight children; Kermit Kundo, Guadalupe, AZ, DeJon (David) LaMountain, Mosinee, Joreen (Arthur) Jaeger, Merrill, Bob (Kim) Jersey, Greenville, Dale (Debbie) Jersey, Neenah, Barb(Jim DeNomie) Jersey, IL, Carol (Tom) Moffitt, Waunakee and Raylene (Bill) Bartel, West Bend; 30 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; two special friends, Herbert Malchow, Antigo and Randy grant, Mattoon; her dog, Cuddles and her cat, Fritzy.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Raatz and one great-grandson.
Visitation:
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4pm until 8pm at Schmidt Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood and on Friday from 10am until the time of services at the church.
Service:
The Funeral Service will be at 11am on Friday June 4, 2010 at the Mattoon Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Myke Christensen Pastor at United Methodist Church, Mattoon, will officiate.
