Carrie McCammon, 101, IOOF Home, Greensburg, died at 11:45 a.m. Monday, May 6, 1991, in the IOOF Home.

She was born May 20, 1889, in Letts, the daughter of Ulysses Sheridan and Mollie Moor Parker. She attended the Letts schools and resided in Letts for 63 years. In 1952 she moved to Greensburg. She operated one of the first telephone switchboards in Decatur County, at Letts, and also worked as a clerk in a grocery in her early years.

On Oct. 8, 1914, she married John Cann McCammon in Greensburg. He had enlisted in 1897 and served in the Seventh Volunteer Ohio Infantry during the Spanish American War. He preceded her in death in May 20, 1966. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Greensburg.

She is survived by two sons, Neal and Leon McCammon, both of Greensburg; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Doris) Waymire, Fairmount, Ind., and Mrs. Fred (Joan) Domrow, Fort Wayne, Ind.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two stepsons, Milo F. and Harold McCammon; one grandchild, Gregory Domrow; one step-grandchild, Mike McCammon and one great-grandchild, Holly McCammon.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, with the Rev. Robert Campbell and the Rev. Ted Miller officiating.

Burial will be in the Mt. Aerie Cemetery in Letts.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may go to the Mt. Aerie Baptist Church in Letts, to the United Methodist Church of Greensburg or the First Christian Church, Greensburg.
