Deceased Name: Dorothy Lorraine Lewis

A private service will be held for Dorothy Lorraine Lewis, who died June 20, 1998, at age 76.

Mrs. Lewis was born March 1, 1922, in Hubbard, where she was raised. Her maiden name was Babb. As a young woman, she moved to Portland, where she lived most of her life. She was an executive secretary for Congress Hotel in Portland for more than five years and later a catering manager for Tyee Motor Inn in Olympia for about five years. She retired in 1974. She was a member of Kenton United Presbyterian Church. In the mid-1970s, she married Jack; he died in 1990.

Survivors include her daughter, Melinda Ortwein of Portland; sister, Maude Learfield of Canby; one grandchild, Shasta; and one great-grandchild Dakota. A son, Gary Elwood Shurtz, died in 1955.

Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to Loaves and Fishes. Arrangements are by Oregon Cremation Co.
