ABBAS
Kimberly Jo Abbas, daughter of Gerald and Kathleen (Millard) Remster, was born Dec. 24, 1967 in Des Moines, Iowa. She passed away Aug. 11, 2000 at the age of 32, from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Kimberly graduated from Des Moines Tech in 1986 and on April 22, 1995 was united in marriage to Todd Abbas. Kimberly's children, Daniel and Ashley, joined this union which was later blessed with son, Brandon.
She was a loving and dedicated mother. Kim was actively involved with her son in Boy Scouts and was also a team mother for boys Little League team. She also contributed her time to Ashley's Girl Scout troop. Kim always put the needs of her family before anything else.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lester and Delores Remster.
Kim is survived by her husband, Todd; and children, Daniel, Ashley and Brandon; her parents, Jerry and Kathy Remster of Des Moines; brother, Brent Remster of Des Moines; and sister, Kristie Orme of Lenexa, Kan.; as well as many, many good friends.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at Fielding Funeral Home with Dave Tyree officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery. Bearers included Jimmy Millard, Steve Millard, Chad Remster, Jason Remster, Cory Remster, Brian Hixson and Dennis Hixson. Honorary bearers were Jim Cox, Tony Abbas and Terry Abbas.
