RANDOLPH - Helene Mae Brann, born in Gardiner, died suddenly at her home on June 13, 2009. She was 87 years old. Helene was born on Sept. 28, 1921, the daughter of James Hammond and Susan Garland Hammond. She graduated from Gardiner High School and was employed as a shoe worker at Gardiner Shoe. She lived in the Gardiner area most of her life.
Helene is survived by her son, Richard Moores, of Brandon, Fla.; her brother, Richard Hammond, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; her nephew, John Flood, of Friendship; her niece, Mary Thompson, of Hilton Head, S.C.; as well as a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Susan Hammond; her husband, C. Wilfred Brann; her son, Robert Brann; and a grandson, Jonathan Brann.
Interment will occur at Litchfield Plains Cemetery in Litchfield. (Kennebec Journal 6/18/2009)
