KENTON, June 10 - As the result of an accident at the intersection of Route 30N and Kirby-rd, near Forest, about noon Sunday, a 70 year old Forest resident is dead and a nine year old Scott resident in a critical condition in a Bucyrus hospital.
George Kindle, 70, of Forest, died enroute to the Antonio hospital here, suffering from a double skull fracture, a broken left leg and a fractured collar bone, according to Kenneth Preston, Hardin-co. Ruth Kimmey, 9, of Scott, is in a critical condition in a Bucyrus hospital with a skull fracture.
Kindle was riding in a car operated by Clara M. Butcher, 74, also of Forest, which was south bound in the Kirby-rd. She suffered painful bruises and was removed to the Antonio hospital here.
The other car, eastbound in Route 30N, was operated by Ernest A. Kimmey, 38, father of the injured child. He suffered bruises on the forehead. His wife and two other children were with him. Mrs. Kimmey received a cut facial artery. The two children, Gordon and Lucille, escaped injury.
The Kimmey car overturned and the occupants had to be removed thru the windows. The right side of the Butcher car was demolished.
Kindle was born in Hardin-co on March 14, 1870, and resided on a farm near Forest until a few years ago when he retired and moved to Forest. He was a member of the Eagle Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Guy Eikenberry, of Ada; Mrs. John Eikenberry, of Dola; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His wife died 40 years ago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hempy-Shields funeral home, Forest, with burial in Candler cemetery, three miles northwest of Ada.
The body will remain at the funeral home.
