Ray "Goober" Murphy passed away April 9, 2010 at home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Memorial services were held in Mojave, Calif. Ray was preceded in death by his wife Jean and his parents Wayne and Myrtis Couch. He is survived by his daughter Jeanie Fuller, brother Michael Couch, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ray was born October 9, 1926 in Greenville, and grew to adulthood in Denison and served in the Navy in World War II. He and his family moved to California in the early 1960s. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins remain in the north Texas area.
