Funeral Services Held For Former Carnegie Resident
Funeral services for J.B. (Bonnie) Bullington, a former Carnegie resident and son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Arthur, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 4, in the Taylor Funeral chapel at Midwest City, Graveside rites were in the Carnegie cemetery at 4 p.m.
Bullington died Wednesday, October 2, in his home at Midwest City.
Joseph Byron Bullington was born November 3, 1907, at Byers, Texas. He moved with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.C. Bullington, to the Sedan community at the age of 13 years. He was married to Gladys Arthur of Carnegie on January 5, 1933. One daughter, Betty Geanee, was born to them.
The family operated farming interests at Carnegie and Mountain View before entering the motel business. At the time of his death, he was operating a motel in Midwest City. He had been in failing health the past two years.
He was a member of the Methodist church. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Torrie and Leon.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys, of the home; the daughter, Betty Thompson of Ada; one grandson, Richard Thompson; one brother, Cecil Earl Bullington of Fort Worth; two sisters, Miss Sally Bullington and Mrs. Birda Steph of Alvord, Texas, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
