Vol. II Records of Revolutionary War soldiers
Enlisted in Captain Browns Co. Col Jacob Gale's reg of volunteers in Contintal army for service in Rhode Island Aug 7, 1778; was at Bunker Hill (appl) Born March 21, 1754 in Epping, New Hampshire; son of David Folsom; married Sally daughter of Benjamin Watson of Nottingham New Hampshire; was a cooper; children: David; Noah; Watson; Moses; Polly; Betsey; Hannah; and Abigail. Folsom Gen says soldier died in 1840 Gustavus, Trumbull Co., Ohio; wife also buried there. Ref. New Hampshire Rev. rolls volume 2 page 565 and N H Pens papers Vol 13 pp66-67 says he enlisted from Eppling for 3 months according to his deposition but has served for 23 days according to Penns athorties; served under Capt. Brown. After the Revolution moved to Dorchester, Grafton Co., New Hampshire, lived there abt 10 years; then to Essex, Chittenden Co., Vermont in 1800 an in 1809 moved to Gustavus, Trumbull Co., Ohio; in winter of 1838-39 went to Youngstown, Ohio to live with son Moses. Pens rejected because he could not give exact date of service. Filed by Mrs. W. B. Shuler and Mary Chesney chpt.
