ADELAIDE KING DRAKELEY.
Adelaide King, was born in Dane county, Wisconsin, September 3rd 1846, and died at Finley, SteeLe county, North Dakota, February 14th 1904, aged 57 yrs 5 months and 11 days. On November 22nd 1865, she
was married to A. T, Drakeley, at Madison, Wisconsin. To this union were born six children two sons and four daughters, of whom Mrs. John Qxton, Mrs. W. E. Elliott, Geo. Drakeley, Mrs. Wm. Oxton and William Drakeley with her husband, survive, one daughter, Effie, having passed
beyond, about 9 years ago. With her husband and family she came to this country the spring of 1883, settling in the southern part of Sherbrooke township, where they remained until 1892, when Sherbrooke became their home, uutil 1895, when they removed to Aneta and later to Finley. About eleven years ago, the optic nerves of both eyes became affected, and although specialists were consulted, nothing could prevent perpetual darkness from blotting out the privilege of seeing her loved ones, in this life. The funeral services were held
in the Sherbrooke church at 2 o'clock p. m., Wednesday, Rev. D. Roush officiating, after which the interment was made in the Sherbrooke cemetery attended by her old friends in the community, who gathered to bestow their testimony of respect for the departed.
