Mrs. Mary B. Dean, 79, 702 W Reed St, died at 5:25 a.m. yesterday morning in Community Hospital after an illness of four days.
Mrs. Dean was born in College Mound on March 30, 1883, the daughter of the late John and Mary Poe. Her husband, William H. Dean, died in 1955. A son, William D. Brannan, died in June of 1962. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, Robert Brannan, Columbia; one daughter in law, Mrs. W.D. Brannan, Quincy, Ill; three step-daughters, Mrs. Gladys Rose and Mrs. C.C. Conover, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Earl Self, Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters in law, Mrs. Nellie Lawrence, Cairo, and Mrs. S.L. Poe, Moberly; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The body is at the Million and Greer Funeral home and will be taken to the First Baptist Church at noon tomorrow to lie in state until the services at 2 p.m. Dr. Joseph P. Grant, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
PShannon has suggested her first husband, father of her son, was William Brannan.
