Arthur Simeon Anderson (1892-1977) married Edith C. Fredman, a daughter of Carl Fredman of Spruce Hill Township. Arthur S. served as an infantryman in the army in France during World War 1. He farmed in the original Frans Anderson farm. He was active in community affairs serving on school and church boards. They had five children: Adola (1920-1972) was a missionary to Zaire, Africa for 25 years with the Evangelical Free Church of America Overseas Mission; Waldo of Costa Mesa, California; Muriel Dressler of Excelsior, Minnesota; Verla Clunes of Albany, Oregon; and Majelle Melzer of Spruce Hill Township.

Daughter Verla Anderson (Mrs. James) Clunes died in 2002 in Sun City West, Arizona. Her husband Dr. James Lindsay Clunes died 13 June 2022. Verla and James had three children: Dr. Lindsay Clunes of Albany, Oregon, Dr. Bradley Clunes of Oregon City, Oregon, and Janell Lyons of Clovis, California.
