Lydia Ann Bonser was born in 26 December 1844, probably in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. She was one of 11 children born to her parents George and Catharine Bonser nee Becker.
In 1850, aged 6, Lydia is living in Tobyhanna, Monroe, Pennsylvania with her parents and siblings. He father is a laborer and their real-estate is valued at $300. In 1860, aged 16, she is living in Tunkhannock, Monroe, Pennsylvania with her parents and siblings. Her father is a farmer and their real-estate is valued at $500 and their personal estate is valued at $300.
At the age of 18 Lydia married Perry Altemose and they would have 6 children in their marriage. In 1880, aged 36, Lydia is living in Tunkhannock, Monroe, Pennsylvania with her husband and children. Her husband is listed as a laborer and both he and his wife suffered from rheumatism.
Sometime in 1887, Perry took his family and accompanied his son-in-law to Washington Territory. They would settle in Seattle. In 1900, aged 56, Lydia is living in Sherwood, King, Washington with her husband and son. He his a farmer and owns his own farm. He and his wife have been married for 28 years.
At the age of 64, Lydia lost her husband. She would remain a widow until her death in 1917. In 1910, aged 66, Lydia is living in Seattle, King, Washington. She is renting a house at 810 South 29th avenue. Four of her sons are living with her. She is still living at the address in 1913, 1915, and 1916.
On 15 June 1917, Lydia died at the age of 73. She died at her home at 810 South 29th Avenue.
