Hi Sharon,
I recently obtained a book called History of Ware by Arthur Chase. In it, he lists men from Ware who participated in the Civil War. He's what he has for Silas Barton:
Mustered June 6, 1863 for 3 years.
Corporal in Company D, 1 Battalion Mass.
Heavy Artillery .
Term of service spent in garrison duty.
