IdaMae Snyder Salyers

Lucas – IdaMae Ellen Salyers, 75, died Sunday at Mifflin Care Center after a long illiness.

Mrs. Salyers was born Oct. 2, 1918, to Charles and Bertha Christopher Snyder in Haydenville and lived in Mansfield all of her life.

She retired in 1982 from the Lucas Local Schools.

She was a member of the Lucas Foursquare Gospel Church where she joined the FYI Ladies Group.

Surviving are five daughters and three sons-in-law, Phyllis and Charlie Adkins of Lucas, Frances and Jay Reed of Mansfield, Carolyn Stover of Mansfield and Judy and George Perry of Mansfield; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Kay Salyers of Lucas and Roger Salyers of Mansfield; 29 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruth and James Sprang, Mildred Fyffe, Dorothy Narivanchik and Evelyn Pettay, all of Lucas; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Mary Snyder of Mansfield and Harold and Edith Snyder of Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Salyers; two sisters [Geraldine Fyffe and Alice Snyder]; three brothers [Emerson Snyder, Ralph Snyder and Walter Snyder]; a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Foursquare Gospel Church by the Rev.

Philip D. Banks. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucas Foursquare Gospel Church.
