Russell Lowell Montgomery, 81, Taswell, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at 9:04 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born July 1, 1928, in Crawford County, he was the son of the late Jesse E. Montgomery and Minnie Maye Carothers.
He was retired from Norfolk & Southern Railroad and a member of Powell Valley Full Gospel Church in Roland.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Sammie, Lester and Leroy Montgomery, and a sister, Martha Evelyn Atkins.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, the former Alberta M. Mock; three sons; three daughters; two adopted daughters; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, May 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 29, after 9 a.m. at Denbo Funeral Home in English.
Funeral: Saturday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Taswell Cemetery.
Officiant: Brother Randy Stevens.
