Clinton Cheek, 81, Lida, died at 5 a.m. November 5 at the Somerset City Hospital.
A native of Clay County, he was born March 8, 1891, the son of the late Thomas
and Mollie Cheek.
He was married in 1914 at Laurel Co., to the former Rhoda Tuttle who survives.
He was a member and Deacon of the Union United Bapist Church.
Surviving besides his wife are three daugthers:
Mrs. Edward (Iva) Rush, Gary, IN;
Mrs. John (Laura) Hampton, Vicksburg, MA; and
Mrs. George (Anna) Overbey, Portage, IN;
four sons, Edward Cheek, Indianapolis, IN;
Willie Cheek, Lida;
Taft Cheek, Clinton, IN; and
Theo Cheek, Portage, IN;
34 grandchildren, and 36 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m Tuesday at the House Funeral Home Chapel by Revs.
Ernest Blair and Vernon Minton.
Interment was in the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, Blackwater.
