Betty Ann Akers, 71, of Bowling Green, formerly of Eolia, died Saturday May 22, 2010 at the Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday at the St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating. Burial will be in the St. Clement Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
She was born March 26, 1939 in St. Clement, the daughter of Joseph B. and Zita Bertha Geujen. On June 25, 1966 at St. Clement Catholic Church, she married James Akers. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2005.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters, Blanche McMillan and Eunice Sisson.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Akers and wife, Brenda of Eolia, Ronnie Akers and wife, Janet of Bowling Green; one daughter, Lori Ann Illy and husband, Steve of Elsberry; eight grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Akers, Sarah, Hannah and Emma Akers, Devin, Danielle and Derek Illy.
Mrs. Akers was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Magruder, Jim Hunter, Chris Brune, Tommy White, Marion Duff and Donald Hammett.
Memorials may be made to St. Clement Cemetery or to the donors choice.
