Ida Mae, daughter of Benjamin R. and Kathryn Blankenbeker, was born Oct. 17, 1881, and departed this life at her home in Orange township, April 12, 1902, aged 20 years, 5 months and 26 days.

Mae seemed strong until a few months ago, when that dread disease, consumption, marked her as one of its victims. She bore her affliction bravely even to the last and but a short time ago did not think her condition serious. She was not afraid to go and told her friends that she was going to heaven and she was sorry to leave them. She leaves a father and mother, ?, brothers, besides aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who mourn her early death.

The funeral was at Wesley Chapel on Monday. Rev. Mitchell of Martinsville officiating after which the remains were interred at the cemetery near the church. The pallbearers were Jeff Swope, Edwin Miler, Butleigh Sharpe, Abel Bennett, Dennis Cooper and Alphonzo Macey. Honorary pallbears were Pearl Fix, Eva Murphy, ? Smith, Clara Roberts, Bertha Cooper, and Edna Mills.

She was laid to rest as tenderly as loving hands could and many are the hears that sympathize with the bereft family.--A Friend
