HARRISVILLE – Thurston Phillip "Phil" Graham, age 55, passed away on May 19, 2008 after an extended illness, from cardiac and diabetic complications.

He was born June 22, 1952 in Amarillo, Texas to Sgt. Harley K. Graham and Mary Smith Graham, the last of five children.

Being in a military family, his early years were spent in Texas, Missouri, Kansas and Colorado. He was baptized into the Baptist Church in 1959 and the family moved to Utah in 1960.

He graduated from Layton High School in the first graduating class; he played football and basketball. He was proud to have been in the first class of Layton Lancers. After graduation, Phil spent four years in the Air Force and served in Vietnam. After his discharge he worked on and off in various warehouse capacities until his health intervened. He was married and divorced twice.

He is survived by a son, Matthew Graham of Ogden; a daughter, Jalene Prieto of Ogden; two grandsons, "Little" Matt and Lucas and two granddaughters, Destany and Martina; three sisters, Roberta (James) Dixon, Gloria "Jeanie" Farrar-Brown of Layton, UT and Mary (Daniel) Shields of Yuba City, CA; many nieces, nephews and cousins; two aunts, Marietta Brockman, Tacoma, WA and Berlene Smith, KC, MO.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harley K. Graham.

Special thanks to the VA Hospital for assisting him during his health struggles; the several special friends who went the extra mile with him and Myers Mortuary for their compassionate assistance.

A private family viewing was held Saturday, May 24, 2008. After cremation a private memorial gathering will be held at Myers Evergreen Memorial Park Cremation Garden on Wednesday, May 28, 2008.
