"In 1774, Ebenezer and John Stearns, brothers, went to Monkton, Vt., and John Stearns was one to settle New Haven, Vt., in the same year, but both settlements were broken up by the Indians and Tories until after the war." He md. (2), Mar. 1782, Sarah Hamlin, b., Sept. 22, 1760 of Monkton, Vt. He was a soldier of the Revolutionary War; d., July 1, 1823; eleven children
