Walter married Elma "Ruth" (Allman) Eichman May 25th, 1935. He married the sister of his brother, Herman's, wife, Lillian Allman Eichman...that is Herman and Walter married sisters, Lillian and Ruth. Walter loved his pinochle and was quite good at it. He didn't quit driving until he was over 80 years old. He and Ruth celebrated 50 Golden Years of marriage on May 25, 1985 at the home of his niece Beverly Eichman Addison at her home at Lake Seneca, Ohio.
