PANHANDLE - Herman Carl Dittberner, 66, long time resident of Panhandle, died Friday at 12:30 in the Groom Hospital, following a long illness.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. H.C. Dittberner of Panhandle; two sons, Edward Lee of White Deer and Walter L. of Panhandle; two daughters, Mrs. E.D. Anderson of Amarillo and Joyce Ann Dittberner of Panhandle; three brothers, Albert of Rochelle, Ill., W.M. of Pampa, and Edward M, White Deer; three sisters, Mrs. Walter Lill of Panhandle, Mrs. Amanda Hanneman of Caldonia, Ill., and Mrs. W.H. Rainey of Amarillo, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the First Presbyterian Church at White Deer. Rev. Joe Murphy of White Deer, assisted by Rev. L.V. Ratliff, Jr. of the First Baptist Church of White Deer, will officiate.

Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetary [sic]. Poston Funeral Home of Panhandle is in charge services.

PANHANDLE - (Special) - Funeral services for Herman Carl Dittberner, 66, were scheduled for 3 p.m., today in the White Deer Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Joe Murphy, pastor, assisted by Rev. L.V. Ratliff, Jr., will officiaite.

Dittberner, a Panhandle farmer, died at 12:30 p.m., Friday at the Groom Hospital. He had been in failing health for some time.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Edward Lee, White Deer, and Walter L., Panhandle; two daughters, Mrs. E.D. Anderson, Amarillo, and Joyce Ann Dittberner, Panhandle; three brothers, Albert, Rochelle, Ill., W.M., Pampa, and Edward M., White Deer; three sisters, Mrs. Walter Lill, Panhandle; Mrs. Amanda Hanneman, Caledonia, Ill., and Mrs. W.H. Painey [sic], Amarillo; and six grandchildren.

Interment was scheduled in the Panhandle Cemetery.

Herman Carl Dittberner, 66, farmer and resident of Carson county since the spring of 1909, died at 1 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the Groom Hospital. He had been in failing health for three years and underwent an operation the day before his death.

Dittberner was born Oct. 20, 1888, near Sibley, Ill. He was the son of Wilhelm F. and Wilhelmina Witt Dittberner. He attended school in Ford and Livingston counties, Ill. He was married to Mary Nancy Ramey Jan. 20, 1915.

The Dittberner home is about 8 miles east of Panhandle. He served on the board of the Hobart school for 20 years. For his services he received a courtsy [sic] life certificate.

Dittberner was baptized in the Lutheran Church at six weeks of age, was confirmed in 1903 and remained a member of the Lutheran Church until 1937 when he joined the First Presbyterian Church at White Deer. At the time of death he was a elder in his church.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the White Deer Presbyterian Church by Rev. Joe Murphy, pastor, assisted by Rev. L.V. Ratliff, Jr., pastor of the White Deer Baptist Church.

Burial was in Panhandle Cemetery under direction of Poston Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Harrison Caldwll [sic], Jim Freeman, Julius Meaker, Jr., Leon Nicholson, James Stall and Paul Carroll.

Honorary pallbearers were Bert Bichsel, J.C. Freeman, Julius Meaker, Sr., Russ Howard, Ernest Shuman, Vern Crumpacker, Frank Kuns, J.C. Jackson, R.L. Curtis, J.R. Nicholson and L.L. Stalls.

Survivors include the wife; two sons, Edward Lee of White Deer and Walter Lewis Dittberner of Panhandle; two daughters, Mrs. E.D. (Alberta) Anderson of Amarillo and Miss Joyce Ann Dittberner of Panhandle.

Also, three brothers, Albert of Rochelle, Ill., William M. of Pampa, and Edward M. Dittberner of White Deer; three sisters, Mrs. Walter Lill of Panhandle, Mrs. Amanda Hannman of Caledonia, Ill., and Mrs. W.H. Rainey of Amarillo.

Surviving also are six grandchildren, Phillip Lynn, Tommy Lee and Terry Don, sons of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Dittberner; Chris, son, and Nancy Kay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Dittberner; and Harley Dee Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Anderson.

The brother, Albert Dittberner, came here from Illinois for the services.

Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Ramey and family, Tonkawa, Okla., were also here for the services. Ramey is a brother of Mrs. Dittberner.
