Mrs. Mary Jones passed away at
the home of her son in Kansas City
at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 18,
1900. She was 76 year, 2 months
and 6 days of age.

Mary Duff was born in Lee county,
Virginia on January 17, 1829.
She was married to William Jones
on May 22, 1854. Soon after their
marriage they moved to Indiana,
where they resided until 1881, when
they moved to Marshall county,
Kansas and bought a farm, one
which they resided until 1899.
Mrs. Jones moved into Frankfort
until February of 1900, when she
was taken seriously sick and was
taken to the home of her son in
Kansas City, where she remained
until her death.

Mrs. Jones was bright and cheerful
until about December 18th, when
she came down with a severe cold
and was sick for several days. She
was taken care of by her son and
daughters, every thing that could
be done to make her confortble
until the end came.

She was the mother of eight
children, seven of whom survive
her, four sons and three daughters.

Funeral services were held at the
Methodist church and interment
was in the LaGrange Cemetery,
south of Frankfort, Kansas.
