Joseph A. "Bud" Fry, 85, of Oregon died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, in his home.
He was born Dec. 3, 1920, in Malden, Mo., the son of Oscar and Lillie Stewart Fry.
He married Beverly Burright in Mount Morris on Apr. 16, 1955.
Bud retired from Carnation Milk Co. after 29 years of employment.
He was a World War II Cavalry veteran, serving in the Philippines and on the USS Missouri, guarding Tokyo after the war.
Bud enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters, Joyce (Terry) Daley of Sikeston, Mo., and Melinda Fry of Chicago; sons, Jimmy (Elsie) Fry and Johnny Fry, both of Bloomfield, Mo., and Michael (Marsha) Fry of Oregon; brother, Billy (Martha) Fry of Rochelle; 13 grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by daughter, Michelle; seven brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. Seventh St., Oregon. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Oregon. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, in the funeral home. Memorials to Ogle County Hospice will be appreciated.
