In 1966, as a teenager, he moved to California where he finished high school and participated in wrestling. Shortly after, he went on to attend Cerritos Junior College. Archie then joined the United States Marine Corp in January of 1969 and received an honorable discharge.
He married his true love Debbie A. Ball on June 26, 1976. To that union they had a daughter, Melissa, who Archie lovingly called "Miss". From a previous marriage, he had three children; Marcia, Steven, and Michelle.
Archie had many interests which included hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, and woodworking. Roller skating was a very big part of his younger days and Nancy Roth, from Dakota Skateland, put it in perspective,
He was "Hell on Wheels".
Archie retired October 2009 after working in the automotive industry for over 35 years. During the course of his career, he held many positions in the industry including service station owner and operator, mechanic, and service advisor.
