Miriam and Daniel's surname is found spelled two ways (Pattison & Patterson.) Which is correct I do not know for sure. The early spelling was Patterson and later it was spelled with Pattison. However it is the same person regardless how it is spelled.

Daughter of David Hutchinson (Mar. 3, 1799-July 10, 1885) who was buried in Leeds
County and Lavinia Brooker (July 4, 1799-Feb. 24, 1879) who died in Tuscola County while visiting her children and was buried in Ellington Twp. Cemetery.

Second wife of Daniel Pattison (July 20, 1817-Apr. 18, 1903) also native of Leeds County, Ontario.

Local newspaper article on MARIAM HUTCHINSON PATTISON

"Last week we mentioned the serious illness of Mrs. Daniel Pattison, who was taken down about two weeks ago with pneumonia, and this week it is our sad duty to chronicle her death. This venerable lady passed away on Monday at the age of 80 years.

Mr. Pattison was taken ill last Wednesday having a slight stroke of apoplexy and as pneumonia has set in, his death is looking for at anytime.

There is something sad and yet beautiful in the death of these two old people who
have travelled life's journey together for about sixty years, and who will enter the
world beyond at about the same time. Only last week, Tuesday, when Mr. Pattison was
taken to the cemetery to select a lot he said 'Jeannette will lay here soon and I
will follow only a step behind. Since her death he has longed for his time to come
refusing to eat and almost praying that death will release him. Yesterday after
coming out of a sinking spell he said 'It is beautiful. It is beautiful'.

The couple were married at Escott, Ontario and came to Tuscola County in 1856 settling
in Denmark Twp. where they lived 6 months when they moved to Almer Twp. and resided on their farm until 1870. They then moved to Elmwood Corners living there until last April when they came to Caro.

Mrs. Pattison has one sister, Mrs. Martha May of Jackson, three brothers, James, Wellington and William."
