Charles Loyd Daniell

Services for Charles Loyd Daniell are at 11 a.m., Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Terry Bernard will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Daniell died May 4. Born Nov. 7, 1912, he was a son of the late Joseph Lee Daniell and Mattie C. Shiver. He grew up in Pavo and later proceeded to make his home in Thomasville and then Jacksonville, Fla. He had many wonderful adventures throughout his life including a circus career and the play Vaudeville. He drove an 18-wheeler and later went on to drive for the City of Jacksonville for 33 years. He spent his life married to the love of his life Marty for 54 wonderful years and raised six wonderful children. Our beloved daddy and granddaddy will be forever in our hearts and always on our minds. Truly a man who will be missed. Survivors include his beloved children, Martha Linda Hayes (Lee), Charles L. Daniell Jr. (Mildred), William Warren "Buddy" Daniell (Lene), Patricia Ann Tapley (Buddy), Danny Russell Daniell (Dorothea), Loretta Cassie Witcher (Eddie); a brother, Reid Daniell (Lorine); sister, Verta D. McCray; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha Daniell; and a sister, Myrtle Arnold. "We await the day until we meet again. We will see you at the top Daddy." The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. - Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home
