Deceased Name: Gene Harrop OGDEN -- Gene Harrop passed away July 22, 2002, in Ogden, Utah. He was born March 23, 1931, in Brigham City, Utah, a son of Earl Harrop and Mable Ipsen.

Gene attended Box Elder High School. He married Jalene Nelson in February 1950. They divorced in 1956. He entered the army in 1956 and served until 1958. He married Geraldine Miller in 1960. They were divorced in 1965.

Gene then married Maxine Hawkins in 1972. He worked for Chevron, and later became a Chevron Service Station owner and operator. He was a heavy-duty repairman for Construction Run Shops for J.B. Parson "Gibbons and Reed". He followed construction in Utah, Colorado, Nevada and California. He retired from Operating Engineers Local #3 in 1993.

He is survived by children Gloria Jean Harrop, Dewayne J. Harrop, Roger Gene Harrop, and stepchildren Bill Gordon, Ann Gordon, Janis Johnson, Michelle Johnson and a special grandson, Daniel Willis.

Gene liked to fish, build Sand Rails, he loved to build things in his shop. He loved to spend time with his family.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2002, at 10 a.m., at Leavitt"s Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Funeral directors, Leavitt"s Mortuary.
