Fred Roe Burton, age 84, of Nancy, Kentucky, passed away August 30 at Humana Hospital Lake Cumberland. He was born in Wayne County, November 18, 1902 to the late Albert Montgomery and Abbie Vie Upchurch Burton. He was married to the late Sophia Mae Smith.

Mr. Burton was a member of Morrow's Chapel Separate Baptist Church and a retired farmer.

Survivors include four daughters, Oneda Tucker of Jamestown, Darlene Robertson of Russell Springs, Christine Denney of Jabez and Irene Morrow of Twelve Mile, Indiana; four sons, Oval Burton of Milroy, Indiana, Otha Lee Burton of Shelbyville, Indiana, Delbert Burton of Russell Springs and Dallas Burton of Nancy; 34 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and one sister, Eva Winchester of Lancaster, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held September 1 with burial in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
