William T. Christian, Jr, AKA "Black Jack" Christian was a outlaw who headed a band of "hardcases" that worked in Arizona & New Mexico, doing store robberies and the like. Black Jack Cave, several miles east of Cliftion was a hide-out, and where he was killed in a shoot-out with a group of lawmen. The exact location at Clifton of his grave has been lost.
