MRS. H. HAGEN PASSES AWAY
Resdent of Sherman Will Be Buried Thursday
Centerville, Feb. 26. - Mrs. Henry Hagen, 69, for many years a resident of Sheman township, died at her home last nigt after but a few hours of illness.
Mrs. Hagen was the daughter of Ernest and Lena Michaels and was born in Prussia, Germany, on Jan. 4, 1860, her maiden name being Johannah Michaels. At the age of seven years she came to America with her parents and seven brothers and sisters, three of whom survive her.
On May 25, 1878, she married Henry Hagen at Centerville, and immediately began a life of industry and happiness which resulted in the acquisition of valuable farm property and which continued until the time of the husband's death in 1921.
Five children were born to this union, four of whom survive. They are: Mrs. Nellie Frays, Centerville, Mrs. Louise Fry, Detroit, Miss Norah, at home and a teacher in the Sturgis schools, and Frank, of Centerville. Mrs. Hagen was also survived by two brothers and one sisiter, Fred Michaels, Nottawa Township, Charles Michaels, Oak Hill, Kansas, and Mrs. BerthaTimm, Centerville.
Mr. and Mrs. Hagen were charter members of the Salem Luthean church of Sheman Township and always active in church life.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Salem church with the Rev. Otto Schumm officiating.
