Vera I. Lang 88, of Clive, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at ManorCare Health Services in Waterloo following a long and courageous battle with Leukemia.
Vera was born March 11, 1922, in Cedar Falls the daughter of John and Elsie Byers McCarter. She married Ernest H. Lang February 10, 1940 in Waverly. He died August 19, 2007. Vera worked as a homemaker all of her life. Spending time with family was very important to her. She was a longtime member of Cedar Valley Community Church. Vera's survivors include a daughter Linda Davis and her husband Richard of Waterloo; a son Loren Lang and his wife Judy of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren: David (Teri Steele) Sivertsen, Diane (James) Hurley, Dawn Batchelder, Jaesen (Heather) Lang, Timothy (Shirley) Davis, and Thomas Davis; eleven great grand children: Alazda, Zara, Megan, Jessica, Jennifer, Emily , Cody, Dakota, Ian , Isaac and Isabel; and four great-great grandchildren: Cameron, Caleb, Braiden, and Zoe. She is also survived by a brother Jim McCarter of Watelroo and a sister Alta Lydon or Oregon.
