Private services will be held for Eldon D. Burgess of Eugene, who died Sept. 5 of age-related causes. He was 93.
He was born Jan. 5, 1905, in Ankeny, Iowa, to Lydia and Arthur Burgess. He moved to Tacoma in 1907.
Burgess married Mildred Glenn in Tacoma on May 31, 1934.
He served in the Army Transport Service.
Burgess moved to Medford in 1949, to California in 1955 and to Seattle in 1985.
He was an electrician. He also designed and built homes and owned a paint and wallpaper store in Medford in the 1950's.
He moved to Eugene in 1990.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Don of Eugene; two sisters, Myra Geddes of Puyallup, Wash., and Ernalie Storrs of Portland; and one grandchild. His wife died May 18, 1998.
