Chester Melvin Mathisen, age 74, Antigo, town of Norwood, died Friday, June 21, 1985 at Langlade Memorial Hospital, Antigo.
He was born July 26, 1910 in Mattoon, the son of the late Iver and Hilda (Johnson) Mathisen.
Chester was united in marriage to Edith Boortz on June 3, 1936 in Mattoon. She survives.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Elroy Mathisen, town of Norwood and Harvey Mathisen, Rhinelander; one daughter, Merrilee (Roger) Laird, Colorado Springs, CO; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Funeral services were held June 24, 1985 at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. The Rev. Robert Girod officiated. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, town of Hutchins.
