Colonel of the First Florida Cavalry, Dismounted. He was taken prisoner at the Battle of Missionay Ridge and was imprisoned at Johnson's Island, Ohio, where he remained until the end of the war, enduring many hardships.
He is actually buried at Old City Cemetery in Tallahassee, Florida but family requested marker to be placed at our cemetery plot since their descendants were charter members of Martha Reid Chapter. See memorial #64226113 for additional information and actual burial location.
